Role Overview
The Care Assistant role is pivotal to the success of our care home. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, supporting their physical, emotional, and social needs with respect and dignity. Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and person-centred care to residents, supporting their daily living activities including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal assistance.
- Observe and monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to the nursing team or management.
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring strict adherence to care plans and regulatory standards.
- Promote a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment by maintaining hygiene standards and following health and safety protocols.
- Encourage social interaction and participation in recreational activities to enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records as required by care regulations and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and families to deliver consistent and effective care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in health, nursing, or social care environments is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- A genuine passion for caring for older adults and vulnerable individuals.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage sensitively with residents and their families.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to maintain records and manage medication administration.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development courses.
- Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance will be required prior to employment.
